EVENTS: “Slovenia and Europe for Clean Waters: Innovations and Solutions Against Plastic Pollution” event in Ljubljana, Slovenia

PREVENT Partner National Institute of Chemistry – NIC is co-organizing the event “Slovenia and Europe for Clean Waters: Innovations and Solutions Against Plastic Pollution” at the National Institute of Biology, Večna pot 121, 1000 Ljubljana, C/D Entry on October 14th, 2025 from 08:30 to 16:00.

The event will present 18 European and national projects, among them also PREVENT, that are developing innovative approaches in Slovenia to detect, monitor, and reduce plastic pollution in rivers, lakes, and seas. The keynote speaker will be Dr. João Frias (Atlantic Technological University, Ireland), one of the leading researchers in microplastics and science communication. The event will be an excellent opportunity for networking, knowledge exchange, and discussions on the future directions of Slovenia and Europe in water environment protection.

The event will be organized back-to-back with the 3rd Steering Committee Meeting of project PREVENT, which will be hosted by project partner NIC at its premises in Ljubljana, on 13 October 2025.
